Human-mouse Gene Searcher
This was a post-doc project funded by Action Research at the Institute of Child Health. It was a dynamic site linked which linked human and mouse phenotype ontologies with a view to finding candidate genes responsible for malformation in humans. I designed and built all the server and client side code. The server side was coded in Java (servlets and JSP) running on Apache in the Tomcat servlet container.
The main search interface (below) was a sophisticated applet (JApplet) with drag and drop functionality.
A vital part of the system was the curation tool which enabled the creation of links between the two ontologies. A screen grab of this can be seen below.
